Portland, OR – As it begins consideration of a Farm Bill, Congress has the opportunity to increase the use of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables in schools. At the same time, Oregon is looking to increase agricultural exports of fruit, vegetables, wheat, wine, beer and other products.
Oregon Agriculture Director Katy Coba, who is just back from South Korea, will join Oregon Senator Ron Wyden and representatives of the state’s agriculture industry in a news conference followed by a roundtable discussion on the future of exports to Asia and barriers to increasing trade with Asian-Pacific nations.
