Wyden Visit to Jackson County on Next Thursday Includes Stops at Brammo, Ashland Rotary, and SORCC Annual Women Veterans Celebration
Portland, Or – Senator Ron Wyden’s visit to Jackson County on Thursday, August 23, 2012, will include a press availability on a tax credit for the purchase of new electric motorcycles at Brammo, a speech on tax reform to the Ashland Rotary and addressing annual SORCC Annual Women Veterans Celebration.
At 11:30 a.m., Brammo President Craig Bramscher will join Senator Wyden for a press availability on legislation that will extend and streamline a tax credit to help consumers and the electric motorcycle industry. The renewed credit legislation would provide up to a $2,500 tax credit to customers for the purchase of a new electric motorcycle. The electric motorcycle industry is expected to create nearly 2,000 jobs in the next 18 months and more than 16,000 jobs over the next five years. The press availability will be at Brammo headquarters, 550 Clover Lane, Ashland.
At 12:30 p.m., Wyden will address the need for reforming the federal tax code in a speech to Ashland Rotary. Wyden is co-sponsor with Sen. Dan Coates, R-IN, of legislation that would lower tax rates, eliminate tax breaks, and avoid The Fiscal Cliff the country faces on January 1, 2013. The Ashland Rotary meets at the First United Methodist Church, Wesley Hall, 175 N. Main Street, in Ashland.
At 2 p.m., Wyden will speak to the annual Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Clinics and Centers Celebration of Women Veterans. The event will be held at the Red Lion, 200 North Riverside Avenue, Medford.
