Wyden to Make Fact-Finding Visit to Hanford on Tuesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) will make a fact-finding visit to the federal Department of Energy’s Hanford, Washington, site on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Senator Wyden is chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, which shares jurisdiction over the facility.
The day-long visit will include a tour of the tank farm, vitrification plant, the B-reactor and a briefing on efforts to clean up the estimated 56 million gallons of radioactive waste stored at the facility.
Senator Wyden will have two press availabilities: 9:45 a.m. at the B Reactor on the Hanford site and 3:40 p.m. at the Federal Building in Richland.

Hanford clothing requirements include: Ankle-high leather boots with a substantial sole and flat heels, shirts with at least 4-inch sleeves and long pants.
