Wyden To Hold Two Town Halls on South Coast
Town halls on July 29-30 in Curry and Coos counties; U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle to co-host both with Wyden
Portland – U.S. Senator Ron Wyden today announced he will have open-to-all, in-person town halls in Curry and Coos counties on July 29-30.
Wyden has already held 32 town halls so far throughout Oregon in 2023 – and 1,059 town halls overall statewide in fulfillment of his pledge to hold at least one town hall each year in each of Oregon’s 36 counties.
“Shortening the distance between Oregon and Washington, DC is essential to representing our entire state, and why I hold open-to-all town halls each year in each of Oregon’s 36 counties,” Wyden said. “These upcoming town halls on the South Coast will give any Oregonian the opportunity to ask questions, voice opinions and suggest solutions to challenges in local communities, our state and country. That all adds up to the “Oregon Way” – an approach unique to our state and one that shows all of America how democracy works.”
U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle will join Wyden for both town halls
“My goal for my first year in Congress was to visit every county in Oregon’s Fourth District and to meet with as many constituents as I can. I’m glad to join Senator Wyden in Coos and Curry County to hear directly from constituents,” said Rep. Hoyle. “It’s a top priority for me to bring rural and coastal issues to the forefront of Congress, and ensure my office is leading with transparency and accountability. I’m looking forward to diving into the issues and ensuring everyone knows my office is listening and we are here to help.”
The schedule for the upcoming town halls is as follows:
- Curry County, 1:30 pm, Saturday, July 29, Curry Public Library meeting hall, 94341 3rd St., Gold Beach
- Coos County, 1 pm, Sunday, July 30, Marshfield Jr. High, 755 S. 7th St., Coos Bay
