Wyden to Attend Veterans Day Events in Albany, Salem
Portland, OR - U.S. Senator Ron Wyden will march in the Albany Veterans Day Parade on the morning of Wednesday, November 11, and attend ceremonies in Salem that afternoon honoring Oregon soldiers killed in the Iraq-Afghan wars.
With around 200 entries and as many as 40,000 spectators, the Albany event is recognized as one of the largest Veterans Day parades west of the Mississippi. The parade features veterans from wars past and present, marching units, military vehicles, and marching bands.
The Afghan-Iraqi memorial was dedicated to honor those killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Each Memorial Day and Veteran's Day there is a ceremony to add names to the memorial.

(The staging area is at the American Legion Hall Post 10, 1215 Pacific Blvd SE, in Albany. Parade route is about 2 miles. It starts at the overpass on Pacific Highway, then right on Lyons, left on 2nd to Ferry St., left to 4th, ending at the Linn County courthouse at 300 3rd Ave. SW.)
