Wyden Statement on Ongoing Violence in Israel

Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., issued the following statement on the ongoing violence in Israel:

"I urge all parties to this conflict to recognize the enormous toll it is taking on innocent lives and implore them to step up efforts toward a ceasefire in the next 24 hours. 

"I stand with Israelis as they exercise their right to self-defense in the face of indiscriminate terror attacks, and I stand with Palestinians caught in the carnage of Hamas’ campaign against Israel. 

"I encourage all Israelis to see that the policies of the Netanyahu era have taken us further away from a negotiated two-state solution and given aid and comfort to those who threaten to undermine Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic state at peace with its neighbors."
