Wyden Hosts 900th Town Hall Next Week
Portland – Senator Ron Wyden will hold his 900th Oregon town hall on Monday, July 2 in Lane County, returning to the city of Eugene where he attended law school and began his public service advocating on behalf of seniors.
The noon town hall will be at the Roosevelt Middle School cafeteria (500 E 24th Ave. in Eugene). Wyden wanted to hold his 900th town hall in Eugene because he attended the University of Oregon Law School.
“I promised Oregonians when I was elected that I would hold annual open-to-all town halls in each of our state’s 36 counties so anybody could ask me any question in any public meeting,” Wyden said. “Throwing open the doors of government for town halls for these conversations is a must in our democracy, and I look forward very much to hearing from Lane County next week in the city that holds such special memories for me.”
In addition to being Wyden’s 900th town hall, this town hall is part of the senator’s First Amendment-focused schedule celebrating the freedoms of assembly, speech, religion and press during the Fourth of July congressional state work period.
