Online town hall is open to all county residents to ask questions of Wyden staff & local supporters of the senator’s Community Empowerment for the Owyhee (CEO) Act
Portland – U.S. Senator Ron Wyden today announced a live on-line town hall Oct. 31 hosted by People’s Town Hall for residents of Malheur County to ask questions of his staff and local supporters of his Community Empowerment for the Owyhee (CEO) Act.
“This landmark Owyhee legislation shows the entire country how a rural Oregon community can come together to preserve both a natural treasure and a rich agriculture heritage that generates jobs,” Wyden said. “The Malheur CEO Act is the product of a local process driven by ranchers, conservationists and Tribal leaders putting the ‘Oregon Way’ into practice by rolling up their sleeves and designing solid solutions.”
The virtual town hall will begin at noon MT (11 am PT) on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and can be watched here on Facebook Live. Malheur County residents who want to ask a question during the town hall can RSVP here.
The online Oct. 31 town hall follows an in-person town hall Wyden held June 23 in Ontario for Malheur County residents to discuss the Owyhee bill and other issues of local and national significance.
“Constituents showing up and speaking out about pending legislation is vital to our democracy,” said Nathan Williams of People's Town Hall, a town hall series from the founders of Town Hall Project. “People’s Town Hall invites all Malheur County residents to join this community conversation about the Malheur CEO Act.”
