Wyden Announces Town Hall Schedule in Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon for March
Coming off his recent landmark 1,000th town hall, senator’s upcoming virtual town halls will be in Malheur, Harney, Grant, Baker, Klamath and Jackson counties
Portland – U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden today announced he will have six live on-line town halls hosted by People’s Town Hall in March for residents of Malheur, Harney, Grant, Baker, Klamath and Jackson counties
Wyden has held 1,001 town halls statewide in fulfillment of his pledge to hold at least one town hall each year in each of Oregon’s 36 counties.
“Nothing has been more important in my public service than keeping my promise to listen to Oregonians in each county each year. And coming off my recent 1,000th town hall, I want all Oregonians to know I’m going to continue that commitment to have these conversations every year in every one of our 36 counties,” Wyden said. “Those conversations are essential to the Oregon Way of coming together to find solutions, and I very much look forward to these upcoming discussions in eastern Oregon and southern Oregon answering questions and sharing ideas.”
"Our democracy is stronger and better when lawmakers meet regularly with their constituents, and we congratulate Senator Wyden on his recent 1,000th town hall representing the people of Oregon,” said Nathan Williams of People's Town Hall, a virtual town hall series from the founders of Town Hall Project. “People's Town Hall invites all constituents in these eastern and southern Oregon counties, regardless of party affiliation, to join upcoming substantive conversations so vital to our democracy."
