Wyden Announces Statewide Committee to Recommend Names for Federal Judgeship

Deadline for Applicants is November 17, 2011

Portland, OR – Senator Ron Wyden announced today the names of 13 Oregonians who will serve on the Senator’s Judicial Selection Committee that will recommend names to fill a federal district court judgeship for Oregon.

The committee, selected by Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkley, will be chaired by Lou Savage, senior policy advisor with the Oregon Department of Consumer Business Services and a veteran of the federal judicial selection process. The committee is being asked to recommend names to replace U.S. District Court Judge Michael Hogan, who has taken senior status.

Those interested in being considered for the judicial appointment must send a letter of interest, a resume and any supporting material to Senator Wyden’s office, attention Christina Rohner, at ORfederalcourt@gmail.com. The application deadline is November 17.

The other 12 members of the committee are: Tracy McGovern, Medford;  Julia Markley, Portland; Art Johnson, Eugene; Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson, Corvallis; Katherine Tank, Bend; Cindy Danforth, Eugene; Steven Corey, Pendleton; Jane Paulson, Portland; Cashauna Hill , Portland; Carrie Menikoff, Portland; Crook County District Attorney Daina Vitolins, Prineville; Paul Conable, Portland.
