Wyden and Merkley Applaud Senate Confirmation of Federal District Court Judge Michael McShane

Portland, OR – Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley today applauded the Senate’s confirmation of Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Michael McShane to serve as a U.S. District Court Judge in Eugene.

“Over the years Oregon has been blessed with a long line of distinguished judges,” Wyden said. “Judge McShane will be a tremendous asset to the court and he will certainly add to that tradition. He’s got a heart for people, a head for the law and a high-minded sense of justice.”

“Over his career, Michael McShane has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to the law, to public service, and to the state of Oregon,” said Merkley. “He will be a terrific addition to the federal bench.”

McShane was confirmed by the Senate by voice vote and will serve as a replacement for U.S. District Court Judge Michael Hogan, who has taken senior status.
