Resources for Veterans

Senator Wyden keeps a close watch on how our veterans get treated because they deserve the best care our country can offer.

Many Oregon service members put their lives on hold in order to serve. They come back from deployments with new challenges. Health care and home mortgages. Counseling and college tuition. Reintegration and retired pay. In the past few years, Senator Wyden has sponsored and voted for legislation that touches on all of these key areas.

Most recently, he has worked to make it easier for veterans who live in rural areas to get the health care they need. For example, now instead of having to travel hours to Walla Walla for doctor's appointments and hundreds more miles to Portland or Seattle for specialty care, veterans in Eastern Oregon can get treated at a new VA hospital in La Grande. Returning veterans will be able to access necessary health care, without serious disruption to their work and education.
