In 2006, the U.S. Air Force recognized twelve of their own as "Outstanding Airmen." Two of the twelve, Staff Sergeants Dan Dierickx and Jeff Hansen, are from the state of Oregon. Senator Wyden had the opportunity to congratulate the airmen, when they visted him in his Washington, D.C. office.
